Central themes and conflicts in poetry since World War II, with attention to poetry's search for new forms and modes of expression in a world altered (often beyond recognition) by war, political unrest, and cultural upheaval. Lowell, Larkin, Roethke, Berryman, Plath, Rich, Ginsberg, Ashbery, O’Hara, Walcott, Heaney, Soyinka, Jay Wright, Charles Wright, Gluck, Komunyakaa, Dove, Carson, Murray, Boland. American OR British (not both), Post-1900.
