HIST 102 - Modern European History

Second Semester.  This introductory course surveys the histories of the peoples of Europe from the Old Regime to the present.  Students are introduced to the methods of studying history as well as the subject matter proper.  Particular topics include:  the decline of the society of orders, the French Revolution and its aftershocks through the 19th century, liberalism, socialism, imperialism, fascism, and the rise and fall of the Cold War.
