RELG 102 - Introduction to Religion: Religion in Theory and Literature3 HU, CD New Course added 05/15/2006 First and Second Semester. This course will introduce the academic study of religion through literary portrayals of religion as a general category and specific religious traditions, such as ancient Greek religion, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, in a predominantly western milieu. The literary texts will also provide context for examining material, sociological, psychological, and deconstruction/post-structural theoretical approaches to religion, as well as alternative conceptual and aesthetic lenses for examining religion.
