THEA 210 - Movement for Actors3 HU First Semester. This studio course explores movement through both a structured and an improvisational approach. We will emphasize developing an expressive and malleable physicality. The basis for individual movement exploration is in Laban Effort/Shape work. Group improvisations will focus on responsive/openness; the ability to respond to quickly changing circumstances while remaining open to the choices of others. Awareness, presence, alignment and strength will also be addressed through the consistent practice of certain movement patterns. There will be out of class assignments in addition to the studio work. Prerequisites & Notes Consent of instructor required. Enrollment Limit: 15. Ms. Martynuk Credits: 3 hours |
