PHIL 346 - Philosophy Seminar: What is Truth?

Second Semester.  In this seminar we shall examine the main competing philosophical views concerning the nature of truth, namely, correspondence, coherence, pragmatist, postmodern, and deflationist theories, as well as attendant philosophical controversies concerning realism and anti-realism for various areas of discourse.  Note: Some background in formal logic and/or philosophy of language would be helpful.
