CLAS 221 - Games, Festivals, Leisure in the Greco-Roman World3 HU New Course added 05/16/2006 First Semester. In this course, we shall examine the institutions that provided a release from the cares of daily life, frequent warfare, and political turmoil in ancient Greece and Italy. We will consider how these diversions fit into a social and cultural context, and the structures and physical remains that they left behind. Students will develop a deeper appreciation of what entertained the ancients and why these institutions were important to all levels of society. Mr. Rupp |
