MATH 317 - Number TheoryNext Offered: 2008-09Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 Hours Attribute: 3 NS, QPf This course is an introduction to number theory. Topics include primality, divisibility, modular arithmetic, finite fields, quadratic reciprocity, and elliptic curves. Emphasis will be placed both on theoretical questions and on algorithms for computation. Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisites: MATH 220 and 232, or consent of instructor.
