PHYS 058 - The Charm and Strangeness of Elementary Particles

Semester Offered: First Semester
Credits (Range): 3 Hours
Attribute: 3 NS

New Course added 05/14/2007.

The goal of particle physics is to develop a single and complete description of the building blocks of the universe. Physicists have done a remarkably good job of describing the behavior of the unusual and elusive subatomic particles that make up all matter. We will discus the bizarre properties of these particles, and how we know what we know about them. The course is designed for nonscientists, but science majors are also welcome.
