DANC 233 - Tools for Abstract Composition / Reinvent Your Eye

Semester Offered: Second Semester
Credits (Range): 3 Hours
Attribute: 3 HU

New Course added 10.19.2007.

This course is designed for artists from multiple disciplines including theater, film, visual art and music, as well as choreographers and dancers involved with interactive generative processes. Students learn new ways to create visual performance by exploring concepts of artistic composition through a physical, improvisational structure. Come prepared to move each day, as scores and structures are designed to dissect the elements used in making a piece: personal movement vocabulary, space, theatrical elements, timing, counterpoint, music, arc, and so on. No previous movement training is necessary.
