ENVS 201 - Nature Culture InterpretationSemester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU This course develops students' capacity to understand how humans conceptualize, interpret, value, and engage with the non-human world. We examine the ways narratives, aesthetic modes, and philosophical systems inform humans' understanding of the nonhuman world. We engage in close readings of literary, religious, philosophical, visual, and cinematic texts as well as examining current environmental issues from an interdisciplinary humanities perspective.
