This course is designed to understand the relationship between a global environment and an international system of sovereign states. The course will cover different aspects of this relationship within the context of international trade, globalization, development, international conflict and international cooperation. The course will also discuss the increasing role of non-state actors such as NGOs, multinational corporations and individuals in the international politics of the environment.
