Extensive reading of published poetry from a creative writing perspective. Writing includes weekly exercises aimed at exploring the various techniques of poetry used in the assigned reading. In-class discussion of both assigned reading and student exercises. Primarily for first years. Upper division students may be considered during add/drop.
