HIST 244 - The US in World War IISemester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3SS World War II is perhaps the most important event in twentieth-century American history. The war had a profound effect on American society, the economy, and America's global status. This course examines the ways in which WWII influenced and transformed America through a study of military, social, cultural, and political history. Topics include the combat experience; politics and technological developments; the war's impact on gender, race, and sexual relations; propaganda and censorship; and popular culture.
