This seminar will examine the theories and methods practiced in art history. Based around close readings of key texts from antiquity to the present, we will consider topics such as: iconography/iconology, semiotics, identity politics, formalism, deconstruction, psychoanalysis, feminism, Marxism, and gender studies.
