RELG 365 - Seminar: Religion and the BodyThis course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4HU, CD, WINT This seminar uses current theories about gender, sexuality, and religious experience as lenses for investigating how religion represents and regulates women's and men's bodies. Issues to be addressed include: suffering and medieval Christian asceticism, religious perspectives on women's bleeding and birthing, gender and sexuality in Buddhism.
