In this course students will learn to use a variety of digital Software and Hardware tools to create evocative video, sound, and networked pieces. The course will also study various histories and methods of "Appropriation" in art-making, from collage, to cut-ups, to sampling, to hacking, to mash-ups and memes. Class consists of demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and critiques. Students are expected to complete assignments and contextual research outside of class time.
