An interdisciplinary team-taught exploration of how places become texts through the work of composers, writers, and visual artists. Texts include poetry, fiction, acoustic and electroacoustic music, digital media, films, paintings and drawings. We will make extensive use of the Allen Memorial Art Museum. In addition to scholarly engagement with the course material, students will undertake their own creative work during the semester (though no prior experience in this regard is required). Enrollment Limit: 20.
