DANC 214 - Moving into Community Next Offered: 2010-2011 Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3 HU What does it mean to engage one’s citizenship as a dancer? This course will introduce students to a variety of movement projects within the Oberlin community. We will look at both historical precedents and contemporary examples of choreographers such as David Dorfman, Liz Lerman, and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar of Urban Bush Women in order to explore the issues of social power and cultural work involved in community-based teaching and performance.
