ENVS 305 - Vulnerability and Resilience of Social-Ecological Systems Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3SS This course investigates the dynamics of social-ecological systems (SESs) by focusing on how systems respond to global environmental change (GEC). We will study how societies mitigate and adapt to those changes by examining the literature on risks, hazards, and resilience. In particular, we will address how communities around the world respond to GEC in spite of of physical and economic constraints. Enrollment Limit: 15 Instructor: C. Washington-Ottombre Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite & Notes: ENVS 101 AND either ENVS 208, ENVS 231, or instructor consent.
