HIST 444 - Colloquium: Gender, Marriage, and Kinship in China This course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : East Asian Studies Next Offered: 2013-2014 Semester Offered: First Semester 2013-2014 Credits (Range): 4 hours Attribute: 4SS, WR, CD A colloquium exploring the construction of gender, varieties of marriage, and conceptions of family in China from imperial times to the present. Special attention will be paid to the state’s attempts to shape ideals and enforce norms in these areas, along with the response of various groups in the society to those efforts.
