ENGL 277 - American Drama This course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : Comparative American Studies, Theater Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 4 hours Attribute: 4HU, WR Selected works of major American playwrights. Emphasis will be placed on close reading, as well as on the significance of each play in regard to political and social movements of the time and the evolution of the American theater. Among the playwrights to be considered: Odets, O’Neill, Williams, Hellman, Albee, Shepard, Baraka, Bullins, Fornes, Kushner. American, Diversity, Post-1900. Enrollment Limit: 30 Instructor: C.
