HIST 476 - Colloquium: History and Memory in 20th Century Europe Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 4 Hours Attribute: 4 SS This course proposes an interdisciplinary approach to the relationship between memory and history, as it is reflected by the historiography of 20th century Europe. The course will focus on major episodes in 20th century European history, such as, the Bolshevik Revolution, the First World War, the Holocaust, and the fall of the communist regimes in 1989, in order to examine the practices of memorialization and strategic forgetting occurring at distinct historical moments.
