EDUA 564 - OCEAN Graduate Workshop: American Government Semester Offered: Summer 2013 Credits (Range): 1 Hour Attribute: 1 EX This course helps teachers enhance content knowledge and explore effective college-level pedagogy including identifying appropriate materials and grading standards. This section focuses on contemporary debates and controversies in American government to deepen teachers’ knowledge of recent developments and emerging scholarship. Discussion addresses book-length analytical works and selected readings from readers and journals. Topics include: representation in Congress; presidential power; civil rights and civil liberties; media and politics; and campaign effectiveness.
