HISP 351 - The Urban Spectacle of Madrid Semester Offered: First Semester Full Course Credits: 4 hours Attribute: 4HU, CD
Beginning in the Baroque Madrid of the Royal Court and ending in the globalized cityscape of the twenty-first century, this course studies the increasing urbanization of Spain’s capital alongside shifting aesthetic trends in Spanish literature. In this context, students will be asked to consider the changing ways that we have utilized, conceptualized, and mythologized urban and national space over a broad historical period.
