A standard introduction to statistics for students with a good background in mathematics. Topics covered include exploratory data analysis, descriptive statistics, probability, sampling, estimation, and statistical inference. A broad spectrum of examples is employed. Statistical software is introduced, but no prior computer experience is assumed. Enrollment Limit: 32 Instructor: M. Raney, K. Woods Consent of the Instructor Required: Yes Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: An appropriate score on the Statistics Readiness Exam. Note: The statistical content of this course is largely the same as STAT 114; the applications are different. Students may not receive credit for more than one of MATH 080, STAT 113, and STAT 114. Consent of instructor required.
