CMPL 330 - Literature, Architecture, and Real Estate Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 Credits Attribute: 4HU, WADV
From country houses and magnificent estates to ominous castles and cluttered apartments, fiction is full of architecture and real estate. Why do literary texts rely so much on architecture? What can the study of architecture teach us about literature? In this course we will read literary texts alongside works of architectural theory and study examples from Oberlin’s campus buildings and the Allen Art Museum. Enrollment Limit: 25 Instructor: S.
