ENVS 327 - Indigenous Environmentalism

This course focuses on various inquiries on how global indigenous peoples sustain their ways of life and worldviews through their relationships with non-human animals. In particular, this course draws upon the spaces which animals occupy in indigenous and non-Western socio-cultural worlds and the interactions diverse groups of peoples have with them. In so doing, this course explores how animal lives intersect with human societies through cross-cultural examinations and interpretations of cultural differences.
