ARTS 069 - Problems in: Re-imagining the Book Semester Offered: First Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4HU
This course will explore and expand upon the notion of the book as a textual object of art. Using narrative and non-narrative techniques in relation to concept, content, image, and form, students will design and construct a series of books. We will make frequent trips to view the artist’s book collection in the Clarence Ward Art Library in Oberlin. Materials and techniques such as correct use of tools, layout, design, basic photoshop intro level binding, will be covered. This class will focus on inventive approaches to the book.
