GEOL 231 - Earth’s Sedimentary Environments Semester Offered: Fall Semester-first module Half Course Credits: 2 Credits Attribute: 2SS
This module examines modern sedimentary processes and environments, comparing them to ancient counterparts at scales of grains to basins over periods of hours to eons. This provides a window into the ancient record but also informs our understanding of future changes in an era of increasing anthropogenic influence. Emphasis is placed on hands-on approaches in lecture, lab and on field trips (field trips required). It allows students with scheduling problems to gain valuable field and lab skills required for graduate school, while committing to only a half semester. Enrollment Limit: 10 Instructor: D. Hubbard Prerequisites & Notes GEOL 120
