DANC 207 - Improvisation I Semester Offered: Second Semester Half Course Credits: 2 credits Attribute: 2HU
This course approaches dance improvisation from a cross-cultural perspective. It presents improvisation concepts, strategies and structures in dance traditions from Contact to Hip Hop, and offers students an opportunity to embody modes of creative play and spontaneous composition found therein. This course will teach students to one-up, show out, throw down, battle, channel, mount, lead, follow, call, respond, act, react, score, visualize, flow, contact, solo, play, jam, conduct and compose in order to expand their understanding of spontaneous performance. Enrollment Limit: 15 Instructor: A. Ramos Consent of the Instructor Required: Yes Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: DANC 100 or DANC 200 or equivalent dance experience.
