ENGL 140 - Arthurian Fictions Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4HU
Stories about King Arthur and his knights have been popular favorites from the Middle Ages to our own day. The legend has been represented across the arts; in dozens of languages; in high and pop culture; as comedy and tragedy. Rather than attempting to cover this vast and diverse tradition, the course will introduce a variety of key texts and genres (e.g. medieval romance, poetry, children’s lit, film) and methods of analysis. Not writing-intensive. One 100-level course may be counted toward the English major. Enrollment Limit: 50 Instructor: J. Bryan
