A study of greek law, with emphasis on social and family law, through the reading of Greek legal speeches by Lysias, Aeschines, and/or Demosthenes. Particular emphasis on disputes regarding inheritance, marriage, legitimacy and prostitution. Primary texts will be read in ancient Greek This course may count towards the Law and Society Major.
