This course explores how skills developed through the study of ethnomusicology can be applied to real-world problems.  How might we become advocates for social and environmental justice or use music to contribute to conflict resolution?  The first module explores the field of applied ethnomusicology and best practices in community-engaged learning.  The second module is practical: students will partner with a community organization, thinking about how to use music to help the organization achieve their goals.
