FYSP 027 - Dangerous Allies in Latin America

What is an ally? Is it simply someone you trust and understands your struggles? How strong are alliances when people unite for various reasons? This course explores the murky terrain of the history of allies and alliances in Latin America. With the help of colonial documents, contemporary manifestos and propaganda, film, and visual artifacts, we will examine the challenges, disappointments, and triumphs of Latin America?s numerous ‘dangerous allies.’
