POLT 410 - Quantitative Analysis of Public Policy Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4SS
In our hyper-partisan world, the public rarely pays attention to whether a policy actually works. If a program is expected to save 1,000 lives or ‘create’ 10,000 jobs, where did those numbers come from? In this course, you will learn quantitative policy analysis using causal inference. While material will cover policies from policing, to school vouchers, to the minimum wage, you will complete an original research project on a topic of your choosing. Instructor: POLT 205 or a similar course covering statistics including linear regression. Prerequisites & Notes POLT 205 or a similar course covering statistics including linear regression.
