GSFS 017 - Topics in Contemporary Midwifery Semester Offered: First Semester, Second Module Half Course Credits: 2 credits Attribute: 2SS
This non-clinical class exposes students to the wonders and challenges of contemporary midwifery by a practicing midwife through discussion, student presentations, and lectures. We will explore misconceptions, popular perceptions and the scope of midwives’ practice in the United States and abroad. You will develop knowledge of the physiology of cisgender women during childbearing years, and explore the psychosocial and cultural influences that affect their decisions around childbirth throughout their lives.
