APST 119 - Movement for SingersHC CNDP 2 credits This course consists of an introduction to techniques and methods of movement specifically designed for singers, incorporating basic yoga postures, mindfulness, basic ballet positions, improvisation, and how these relate to musical and vocal freedom. Students will develop a vocabulary to describe the body and specific movement exercises, analyze postural and alignment patterns, learn to organically respond to music using improvised movement and gestures, and incorporate these movements to facilitate increased vocal ease and confidence on stage. For students concentrating in voice performance.
