Private Composition Study Courses
Principal Private Composition Study: 4-6 hours
Students beginning Principal Private Composition study in the Conservatory must have
completed the two-year module sequence of composition classes (COMP 102A- COMP 203B).
Transfer students are assigned to the composition sequence based on audition and transfer of
credits. Secondary Private Composition Study: 2 hours
Students may pursue Secondary Private Composition study only with the recommendation of the
department and approval of the Office of the Associate Dean. This course is available to non-
Composition majors in either the Conservatory of Music or the College of Arts and Sciences. Classroom Courses in Composition
