Career Exploration and Development

Career Exploration and Development (CED) is in the Center for Engaged Liberal Arts (CELA). The mission of CED is to help Oberlin students chart a meaningful path toward their professional future. CED’s holistic mentoring approach encourages students to discern and develop the skills, values, and direction best aligned with their evolving career goals and academic interests. Students are encouraged to join career communities that align with their studies in order to explore potential professional pathways. CED offers several programs closely connected to academic majors, including the Ashby Business Scholars and Law and Justice Scholars. Through Internship+ Commitment, Summer Experience Funding, and Winter Term Micro-Internships, students receive material support to engage in research experiences, internships, and arts programming that will help students launch into meaningful endeavors post graduation.
