FYSP 106 - Animal Minds and Human Morals: Current Debates in Animal Ethics
4HU, WRi First Semester. An interdisciplinary examination of the ethical status of non-human animals. Because they are sentient, animals seem to matter more than chairs or vegetables: they seem to have interests in the sense that things can go well or badly for them. What, precisely, are the psychological capacities of animals? Do the psychological capacities of animals make them appropriate objects of ethical concern?
