HISP 336 - Translating Latin American Literature 3HU, CD
Second Semester. This course deals with the theory and practice of literary translation in the context of Latin America. We read fundamental texts on translation by authors like Reyes, Paz, Ferré, Borges, critics like Stavans, Pérez Firmat and translators like Levine and Rabassa. The workshop component of the course focuses on analyzing published translations and most importantly, working on individual projects.
