CLAS 210 - Greek and Roman Mythology

Introduction to the major myths of ancient Greece and Rome and their adaptation by later Western culture. Study of the idea and function of myth, with introductions to some of the most important schools of mythological analysis: psychoanalysis, structuralism, and semiotics. Some attention to the representation of classical myth in the visual arts, especially in the collection of the Allen Art Museum. Enrollment Limit: 60.
