First-year Japanese. An introduction to basic grammar, sentence patterns, and vocabulary of the modern language. Attention to the written component of modern Japanese will include the hiragana and katakana syllabaries, as well as kanji. No auditors. See instructor for correct placement. Enrollment Limit: 20.
