A socio-technical perspective to energy sustainability with particular attention to the role of individuals and communities. The first part examines the physical, political, and economic aspects of various energy sources. The second part investigates how human societies consume energy and the challenges of transitioning to more sustainable alternatives. Contemporary issues such as peak oil, climate change, and every independence will be discussed. Students will explore creative solutions to the energy crisis. Enrollment Limit: 25. Instructor: R.
