GEOL 204 - Evolution of the Earth

This course examines major events and processes of Earth history, including the growth of continents, mountain belts and ocean basins, terrane accretion, sea level changes, and climatic changes in the context of plate tectonics. We also explore the evolution of life as an integral part of the history of Earth. Lectures and labs emphasize principles and techniques used to reconstruct Earth history. Two field trips required. Enrollment Limit: 28.
