PHIL 122 - The Nature of Value


Semester Offered: First and Second Semester

This course deals with central questions in ethics, aesthetics, and political philosophy, the three branches of value theory. These questions include, What makes an action right or wrong? What makes a state just? and, What makes a work of art or landscape beautiful? In order to answer these questions, we will consult key texts, compare forms of judgment, and critically engage with value problems. Enrollment Limit: 30.
