This course attempts to analyze notions like “feminism”, and “gender”. It articulates various forms of feminist philosophy, and applies feminism to interpersonal ethics and political problems. We discuss whether there is a distinctively feminist ethics, and whether political liberalism, contemporary popular culture, or the traditional family are sexist. We also take up feminist discussion of sexual harassment, affirmative action, pornography and other topics. (V) Enrollment Limit: 30. Instructor: T. Hall
