Contemporary Political Theologies. This seminar examines how various theologians and philosophers of religion are bringing religious themes to bear on pressing social and political challenges and, conversely, how they have reinterpreted traditional religious beliefs and practices in light of these challenges. Readings will be drawn from influential thinkers that focus on the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality and the environment. Consent of instructor required. Enrollment Limit: 15.
