RELG 104 - Introduction to Religions: Asian Religions

This class will study the basic teachings and the history of Buddhism,Taoism, and Islam. In addition to studying their history through the use of primary texts, we will look at examples of the living practices by the use of films and eyewitness accounts to see how the sacred is manifest in daily life. Based on these wide ranging examples, the class will seek to develop its own understanding of religion that can include both Asian and Western traditions. Enrollment Limit: 30.
