THEA 269 - Voice for the Actor Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 2 to 3 Hours Attribute: 2 to 3 HU
This course introduces basic principles of voice production for actors: breathing, relaxation, resonance and centering. Exercises are designed to integrate mind/breath/sound/body in the act of purposeful communication, progressing from pure sound to text work. To be taken concurrently with THEA 210, 301 (Movement and Shakespeare). This combination of courses is designed to prepare advanced students planning to apply to graduate school in Acting.
